A New Year’s Eve.

The door to the past, is firmly closed

Now last year’s time has gone

No more those chains to drag me down

As the Echo says, move on

With no regrets, no looking back

The key is gently turned

The sky turns bright, the clouds have gone

Those unfilled dreams lie burned

Come New Year, come ring your bells

There is Magic here at play

Another year, another life

Let fairies point the way

Live each day, as if your last

For the day, but once will come

Dream each dream, as they occur

And let your heart, free run.

That shortest day.

Tis’ the shortest day

And the longest night

And the year, is turning black

A glance behind

One last look

There is no turning back

But yet

Within this changing year

A light shines in the sky

The faintest glimpse

Of simple dreams

Is lit within your eye

A hope, a chance

A redrawn script

A line scratched in the sand

A question mark

Un-finished tales

Is that a reaching hand

This shortest day

And longest night

This year of might have been

Could be, yet be

The new begin

The start, of another dream.

Life. (A lyrical journey. (Moon River.))

Relationships. (Hello, goodbye.)

And what do THEY do when they come to an end

They find someone new and start over again.

True Love. (Without you.)

And what will WE do if it seems like the end

We will look in our hearts and begin once again.

Soul mates. (Knowing me, knowing you.)

And what would WE do if we came to the end

We’d KNOW what we had and continue as friends.

The Future. (My heart will go on.)

And what should we do, when all seems lost

We put things right and THEN count the cost.

Reincarnation. (Circles in the sand.)

And what will I do when I come to MY end

Why, I’ll die, then come back and I’ll find you again.

The book lover.

And out from the smoke you came dancing

Back from time upon time

Speaking your thoughts in a whisper

That echoed again in sweet rhyme

You rose from the ashes of past time

Caressing my guilt once again

Your whispers they carried no malice

Yet still they fall like hard rain

Of your books, your words and fine letters

Your softness and gentle refrain

All flood back, surround and they drown me

And bring back that hurt and the pain.
